Summer Programs at Marmalade Skies Tutoring
Summer is a wonderful opportunity for students to strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and prepare for the upcoming school year in a supportive and engaging environment.
At Marmalade Skies Tutoring, our summer tutoring programs are designed for students who benefit from structured instruction and individualized support. Our summer academic programs help prevent summer learning loss (often called the “summer slide”) while keeping students engaged and motivated.
Groups are intentionally kept small so instructors can provide individualized attention. Students may enroll for June, July, or both sessions.

Our summer education programs are a great fit for students who:
- Need extra support with reading, writing, or math
- Benefit from small-group instruction rather than large classrooms
- Learn differently and may have dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or other learning differences

Summer 2026 Classes
Reading & Writing Workshop (Grades 4–7)
Build stronger reading comprehension and writing skills through discussion and guided writing in one of our engaging summer reading programs.
Students will:
- Read and discuss a selected novel
- Practice reading comprehension strategies
- Expand vocabulary
- Learn to organize ideas clearly in writing
- Write paragraphs and short essays using evidence from the text
Reading & Writing Workshop (Grades 1–3)
Strengthen reading comprehension and early writing skills in a supportive small-group setting.
Students will practice:
- Reading fluency and comprehension
- Vocabulary development
- Responding to texts through writing
- Sentence and paragraph construction
- Organizing ideas clearly
Math Foundations (Grades 1–3)
Build confidence with core math skills that support success in school through our structured summer math tutoring program.
Students will practice:
- Number sense
- Addition and subtraction strategies
- Early multiplication concepts
- Problem solving
- Mathematical reasoning through guided instruction and activities
Math Skills & Problem Solving (Grades 4–8)
Strengthen math skills and build confidence through guided instruction, problem solving, and small-group support.
This class is designed for students who need extra support with foundational concepts or who would benefit from reviewing key skills before the upcoming school year.
Students will practice:
- Multiplication and division fluency
- Fractions and decimals
- Multi-step word problems
- Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving strategies
- Organizing work and checking for accuracy
Class Schedule
All classes – including social groups – meet twice per week for one hour.
Families may choose either a Monday & Wednesday session or a Tuesday & Thursday session. Contact us for schedules!

Each month offers a complete instructional cycle, allowing students to join for one or both sessions.
Support for Students Who Learn Differently
At Marmalade Skies Tutoring, many of our students benefit from specialized support, including those with autism and other learning differences.
In addition to our academic programs, we also offer autism support groups designed to help students build meaningful peer connections, improve communication, and develop confidence in social settings.
Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support high-functioning autism and friendships, helping students practice real-world social skills in a structured and supportive environment.

Can my child take more than one class?
Yes. Many students enroll in both Reading & Writing and Math by attending different days of the week.
